  1. Is Your Business Licensed?

Yes. We are licensed by the State of Delaware under the name Spider Web Technologies, which is the name of our business. Spider Web Sports is a division of Spider Web Technologies. We are also accredited by the Better Business Bureau. To verify this, type "Spider Web Technologies" into http://www.bbb.org/online/consumer/default.aspx

  2. Why are Some Bets Listed as "Canceled"?

Once picks are posted on our page, we treat them as if they are locked into a sportsbook. The only way we will cancel a bet is if the sportsbook has canceled the bet. The most common sport for this to occur in is baseball, and some of the most common reasons for this are:

    1. Pitching change (any change of starting pitchers after we have listed the bet).
    2. Suspended or postponed game.
    3. For runline and total bets, a weather-shortened game will also cancel these bets.

In the event of a pitching change, we may still want to play the bet even after the change. If we do, we will list the original bet as canceled and then re-add the bet, just like you would have to do at a sportsbook.

  3. The lines at the sports books aren't the same as the lines that are posted with your picks. Why?

The line that we post with each pick is the line that is available at the time we release that pick to you. This is the only fair way to do it, as it would not be fair if we changed our pick every time a better line became available.

If you want to get the same lines as we use, we recommend you play our picks as soon as we release them. However, some people choose to wait and see if the lines will move in their favor. Line movement strategy is up to you.

  4. What's the Difference Between +1 unit and +$100?

Nothing. Many sites use $100 instead of 1 unit because it's a nice, easy, round number that represents a reasonably sized bet.

  5. You Lost Money Yesterday. Why Should I Sign Up?

Well, chances are that we didn't lose money yesterday, but in case we did... Our single goal is to make money in the long run. Some days we will win a game by a half point and other days we will lose a game by a half point. Some days we will go 5-0 and others we might go 1-4. Because it is a game with high levels of variance, streaks are inevitable in sports betting. It is how you ride those streaks that determines your success. We WILL NOT make a profit every single day, but we will make a long term profit.

If you never want to experience losing a bet, check out that (cough)SCAM(cough) site that touts a 97% win rate.

  6. Some of Your Picks Don't Have a Spread. Why?

There are three kinds of picks that we will post on our site. Here is an example of each.

    1. Point Spread: Texas -6.5 -110 vs Oklahoma
If a line looks like this, the team to the left of the line is our pick, the team to the right is their opponent, the first number is the spread and the second number is the payout rate.
    2. Total (Over/Under): Oklahoma at Texas OVER 146.5 -110
If a line looks like this, it means that we are predicting that this game will have a combined score greater than 146.5. The second number is the payout rate.
    3. Moneyline: Texas -287 vs Oklahoma
If a line looks like this, it simply means that we are taking the team to the left of the line "straight up", so there is no spread involved. The outright winner of the game is the winner of the bet. The line displayed shows the payout rate.

  7. Can I Add On to My Subscription Before It's Over?

Yes! If you select a subscription that you already have, your new subscription will simply be added to the end of your current subscription.

Example: You have an All Access subscription that ends on January 1st, 2011. If you purchase a one year All Access subscription before January 1st, 2011, then your subscription end time will change to January 1st, 2012.

  8. I'm a Problem Gambler. Will your service help me?

Absolutely not. If you don't know how to keep a cool head and control your gambling, then we have no interest in your business. Although we will probably grow your bankroll in the short run, if you aren't practicing proper money management skills then you will inevitably go bankrupt.

If you have a problem, check out The National Council on Problem Gambling.

  10. Do you Offer a Guarantee or Refunds?

We call it a Customer Protection Promise. A "guarantee" might not be the technical term for it, but this is what we offer...

This prevents you from getting stuck with a handicapper that has hit a cold spell, and it also gives you freedom to test out multiple handicappers for the price of just one.
